Greetings! I am SO excited....let me repeat...SO, SO excited to be joining the teacher blog community! This is something I have wanted to do for a long time...and now seemed like a great time. (So many snow days...plenty of time to get it up and running!)
Here in MN today we are experiencing -45 degrees with windchill...yes 45 BELOW zero. Coffee is keeping me warm. :)
OH.....and this little guy.
Welcome to my classroom where I treat everyone like family and strive to create a safe, loving, and thriving educational community. I strongly believe in teaching character as well as academics. This is one of my favorite education quotes:

LOVE it!
Anywho, on to my classroom library. Each year I struggled with keeping my book baskets organized. I have my books organized by Lexile level and for a long time had a "color coded sticker or animal sticker that matches the Lexile number" sorting system. This was really hard for my 2nd graders to figure out...so many different stickers, etc. SO...this year I downloaded these amazing alphabet book basket labels.
You can find those labels HERE.
I then created letter labels for my books. I did these in black and white because a) school only has a black and white printer, b) I have a book buying OBSESSION..(can you say thrift store??) and c) I didn't want to use all my color ink at home in one sitting.
If you would like my labels, they can be downloaded here.
I also sorted about half of my books by topic. I have those labels too somewhere! I will dig those out and share as soon as I find them.
Thanks for stopping by!
Mrs. Palmer
